Did stride workout today: 3mi. warmup, 11x30sec. strides with 1-1:30 jog, and 3mi. cooldown. Total time 1:16:06. It was the same story as before on the strides, especially towards the end - I would start feeling rapid lactic acid accumulation in my legs very soon. Once I glanced at my watch as soon as I felt it, and I was only 15 sec. into a stride. It would cause me to slow down in the second half. In the first 10-15 sec. when I felt good and ran strong, my speed was 5:05-5:10/mi. but overall speed was only 5:30-5:40 over entire 30 sec. |
